The New Bryan

HEY ALL,

I added the pictures but forgot to even write a darn thing about Drew. So, here is the scoop that you all want to know. We made it to the hospital bright and early Tuesday morning. We got Tari and registered, down to L&D, hooked up to the monitors, IV's started, and the rest of the whole 9 yards.

We went into the operating room around 7:30am where our awesome anestheist started Tari's spinal. Aside from the initial lidocaine shot, it went in very smoothly without any discomfort to Tari. She was then laid down on the table and her belly was cleaned and prepped for the incision.

They proceded to start and shortly later after a few very big grunts by Margaret pushing on Tari's stomach Drew popped his head out of her belly!.....He was officially born at 7:57am on Tuesday the 29th of January. He weighed in at 6 lbs 10 ounces, 19 1/2 inches in length. Believe it or not, he made Avery (5 lbs 1 oz) and Kendal (5 lb 15 oz) look like peanuts....hence Tari has given him the nickname of MOOSE!

He has very little fuzz on his head, but he is definately an alert boy. He opens his eyes pretty wide and right now he has blue/gray eyes.

Drews' middle name, Benjamin, comes from his both sides of the family. Tari wanted me to mention, that her Grandpa Ben Burtenshaw's nickname was Fuzz, so she thought it was really awesome that Drew Ben came out with a head of Fuzz too!!

Tari is recovering very well from the surgery...after all we did GEL her incisions (want more information on that...ask me) hehe!! Dr. Oldroyd and Margaret did a very fine job removing Tari's old scar and helping revise it to ensure that she will still be able to land that contract with Bikini's R Us!!!

As for more on Tari, yesterday was a recovery day. She did hurt quite a bit, but today she has been up and moving around. Her incision looks great. She has some pain, but she tolerates it well. She is a definately a trooper. I will mention at this point that I am NOT carrying the next well since Tari does such a great job of it herself =)

Today, Drew lost 6 oz, but he is still a MOOSE! and Avery and Kendal both love to hold him and kiss his little head.

Sleeping Beauties...

Oh, how we girls must stick together!! The other day, my daughter and I decided to take a nap. Little did I know that those baby dolls had to join in. Avery is such a mommy, though. I am sure she felt they would be grumpy too if they didn't get sufficient rest.

Soon the girls in this house will be outnumbered, and the baby of the family will no longer be a fiesty green eyed girl with pink ribbons in her hair. I have no doubt though, she will rise to the occasion and keep us all reminded who is really in charge-Avery Jayke Bryan!! We love you very much, Sassy!!

Lasso The Moon...

My son said the most wonderful thing today. He looked out his window and saw the moon just over the neighbor's house. It was big and beautiful and he just had to let me know it was out there. He drug me to the window to show me the sight and then he said with all the childlike wonder a four year old has," Mom, I wish I could go out there and get that moon for you and bring it in here so you could have it." Kids are beautiful. I am glad for the reminder.. Thanks, Kendal!!

Speaking of Arrivals...

For those of you who may not know, we are expecting a baby boy around Valentine's Day!! Well, okay, just today, at the OB appt. we were told to set the birthday for January 29th, 2008!!We will be scheduling the C-section to fit Cam's work schedule. It will ne nice to have him around this time (last time he went to work the next day, and he has never been forgiven) That is only three weeks away. Things are seeming a little too real. The most tragic part is not having a name yet. Any boy names floating out there that we might borrow??

Our New Arrival

Nope. Not a baby. Well, maybe for Cameron. I guess there was just too much snow in the driveway to use a good 'ole shovel, so Cam did some looking and found a four-wheeler with a snowplow. He has put on it's first 6 whole miles already plowing every neighbor's yard down the lane, and taking it to Young Men's. He insists it is just a tool, not a toy. Yeah, we'll see when the snow melts, Dear.

Jumpin' on the Bandwagon

Hey all!! I know it has taken a while, but we have arrived!! The Bryan Family has begun a blog!! And though it may not be updated every day, ( I mean, let's be real here) we hope to make a resolution to add to it every chance we get. Thanks for all your "encouragement" to get this started. We are very excited to share our life with you!! Please visit often. You are always welcome here!!

P.S. If you have any fine ideas of how to make this funny or eventful, we are always up for suggestions. Actually, we will take any ideas, not just the fine ones.
