Lions and Tigers, and Bears...OH MY!!

October 23, 2010

Oh, we love HALLOWEEN!! This year's theme: THE WIZARD OF OZ!!! Loved it!! We have Dorothy (Avery), Tin Man (Kendal), Toto(Drew), The Cowardly Lion (Edyn), The Scarecrow (Cameron) and The Wicked Witch of the West (Tari)

We know that we will not be able to force the family to cooridinate for very many years more(see how happy Kendal is?), but for now, we are just loving it.

And we are so cute, I know!! Happy Halloween, All!!

"Grandma the Great" (Edna Denning) Turns 92

October 21, 2010

Avery and "Grandma the GREAT" on her 92nd birthday. We sure love her!!!

Grandma Bryan (Lynne, Grandma the Great's daughter) just loves all the grandkids!!

We have cake and ice cream and balloons, presents and homemade cards and sit around and talk.

Grandma the Great always loves getting clothes and candy!!

Our Grandma the GREAT is getting up there in years. She is 92 this year!! It is always fun to go to her parties. She loves to tell us stories of where she lived and about Preston and sing songs about fruit and vegetable salads and the man in the moon. She is certainly fun and we sure love her!!

Happy Birthday, GRANDMA the GREAT!!! We LOVE YOU!!!

EWWWW!!

October 16, 2010

Kendal and Shelbee are practically inseparable. They like the same things: Wii, Bakugans, Legos, 4-wheelers, Nintendo DSi, anything boyish or very BOYish.

This day was one they happened to actually be outside and found a poor little garden snake. I say poor, not because I like them by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think it is a poor little creature to be shared by 7 year old rough and tumble kids. I would not enjoy being that snake, and although they were as gentle as could be expected and the snake was released alive and slithering, still it must have been a terrifying day for the snake. I know it was not one of the MOM's top 10.

Here's to nature.

Go TITANS!!!

October 11, 2010

The sun in his eyes, but the best shot we got of him because...

Just about everyone was silly, typical boys, right? BUT...

We did finally get a good shot!!FINALLY!!!

Kendal played AYSO this year and was on the TITAN team!! He is much better than in past years. We have had so much fun watching him jump into the arms of his teammates to celebrate when they score a goal (he is much smaller in stature than most of his team). He is very supportive of them and has an uncanny way of cutting behind the ball to make sure it doesn't get past him. And he ALMOST got his own goal this year. We are just so proud that he has been supportive and happy at games and practices!!
He is a TITAN in our book!!

Love you, SON!!

Morning Sickness!!!

August 9, 2011

Me- Good Morning, Kendal Boy!

Kendal- Mom, Avery is making me THROW UP all the time.

Me- What? How is she making you throw up?

Kendal- Because I am SO SICK of her.

Me- (stiffling a laugh) Oh. So how about some breakfast?

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha SNORT!!!

SAYING MY PWAYERS!!!

August 7, 2011

Me: Kneeling down to pray beside my bed.

Avery: (walking over next to me, whispering) Mom...Mom, can we have some candy?

Me: (without opening my eyes) Shhh, Honey, I am trying to say my prayers. I'll be finished in a minute, okay?

Avery: Okay. (walks out into the hallway) DREW!! MOM IS SAYING HER PRAYERS TO FEEL BETTER, WE HAVE TO BE QUIET!!

Drew: LET ME SEE!! (opens the door and walks in) MOM, ARE YOU SAYING YOUR PWAYERS?

Me: Yes, Son. I'll be with you soon.

Drew: AVERY, SHHHHHH, MOM IS SAYING HER PWAYERS!!

Motherhood is hilarious!! I think even HEAVEN got a kick out of that.

Edyn Loves Grass??

October 9, 2010

Babies usually don't like the feel of grass. None of my other kids liked the pokie, crinkly, tickly feel of grass. Edyn really likes it. See?

She likes it. She really does.

Wow. Just look at that happy face. So fun.

Candy Corn Wreath...

October 8, 2010

Okay, so a friend of mine sent a picture of this darling wreath off of a blog. We thought, "WOW, that would take a long time to glue every single candy corn one by one. Let's GO FOR IT!!"

So we did...and we think it looks YUMMY!! Thanks, Lynette. I hope my glue burns heal fast.

Kendal's Desert Habitat Diorama

September 23, 2010

Kendal's first big project of second grade was to create a diorama of a favorite habitat. With a limited budget, we decided to try to use things we had already. My incredible son came up with all this:

He made this diorama out of a shoebox that he spread glue and course ground wheat on the bottom and a paper original desert marker art picture for the background.

He made snakes by hot gluing tiny rocks together, adding some beads for the rattle and googly eyes and a blue tongue for detail.

This is a scorpion he twisted with pipe cleaners and added red pom poms for effect.

This is a bat cave complete with a bat hanging upside down.

Green foam cacti and a bright sparkly golden sun pom pom in the corner and viola... a desert. Great Job, Son. Proud of you!!

Can You Can-Can???

Ohh, WE SURE CAN!!!

Killer Camping

Camping this weekend was "Killer" for 2 reasons:

1) It was our ONE and ONLY camping trip this year, so we HAD to MAKE IT COUNT!!

And....

2) The mosquitoes were the size of Volkswagon Beetles and they tried to eat us ALIVE!!
We fished, 4 wheeled, and roasted marshmellows (and frankly, whatever else we could find) until we reeked of campfire and bacon and Drew and the dog had fallen in the river more than once each!! Kendal also got to try out his 125cc 4-wheeler (we bought used for a steal) on a real dirt road!! He is a nut!! Thank heavens for helmets!!
It was SO great!! Absolutely "Killer"!!

Mommy/ Daughter DATE!!

My great friend Kristen told me that the Playmill in West Yellowstone was performing "Beauty and the Beast" and that is was wonderful!! We decided to take our four-year-old girls to dinner and a musical for a GIRLS NIGHT!!

We had a BALL!! The girls LOVED the musical, and it really was a fabulous cast!! So talented!!

Avery and Alexa both got to hug "Belle" before AND after the show!! They were in heaven!!

We have got to do that more often!!

Our Glorious Garden

I love our garden. It has grown so well this year. We purchased little plants instead of trying seeds and they have been so healthy. Our strawberries and raspberries have been full of fruit, Kendal's zucchini is extremely happy, and the herb garden is awesome!! Sometimes I wish summer could last a lot longer!!

Zoe Fluff Bryan

Cameron has such a soft heart.
Today, Cam went to the transfer station (dump) and there was a sign in the window of the attendents' building that said "FREE PUPPY". When he stopped to talk to the attendent, the story was that the puppy had been dropped off and left. The attendent had taken two other dogs home with before with the same story and could not take home another. So, Cam calls me to ask what I thought. Well our history with pets has not been a stellar one, and I had half the nieghborhood over, so I told him that I couldn't talk about it right now and that I trusted him to make the decision...
He came home with her.
Well, she is small and adorable. She doesn't whine or scratch at the door. She is so fun. The kids love her. We sided an old sturdy doghouse with some left over siding from our house, shingled the roof and bought a carpet remnant, so it matches and everything. She'll be an outside dog for sure. She looks like she is Blue Heeler, but we won't be sure until the vet sees her.
We decided to name her ZOE (Kendal's choice), FLUFF (Avery's choice), Bryan...

Shin Guards And Soccer Balls

All fired up for SOCCER!!! Kendal is much better this year!! He can run much farther and anticipate like a pro!! He even got in there to try for a goal...Just missed... We just love to see him so involved and driven to do his best. He is also the best at CELEBRATING when a score is made. He is light enough to jump into the arms of his teammates!! They are so awesome!!
Our family has loved just throwing out the family denium quilt on the soft grass and enjoying the summer days outside!! We are so blessed to have wide open parks and fun programs for our kids to learn and progress!!
The only tough thing I have found is explaining to him that he needs to get in the middle of the bunch and be aggressive to get that ball!! We have spent so much time teaching him to be polite and let others go first, don't fight , take turns, be peaceful and loving, and SHARE!!
We have some unteaching to do....for sporting events only!!!
GO GET 'EM, TITANS!!!
